How we verify
Every specialist, product and vendor on TYGR is checked before they go live, and checked again after. Here is what we check, step by step, and what happens when something fails.
Specialists
Anyone who consults in the Clinic, teaches in the Academy or gives expert answers in The Streak goes through these checks.
Licence check
Doctors give us their MDCN registration details. We confirm on the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria register that they are registered and hold a current practising licence. Other professionals are checked against their Nigerian regulatory or professional body. [TODO: name the body for psychologists, therapists and dietitians.]
Identity check
We confirm the person is who the licence says, using government-issued ID that matches the name on the register.
Interview
We talk to every specialist about their experience, how they protect patient privacy and when they refer people for in-person care.
Ongoing checks
We recheck licences when they are due for renewal and review every complaint from a patient. [TODO: confirm recheck frequency.]
Fitness coaches are not health professionals. We check their coaching certification, and they are always labelled non-clinical.
Products
Every supplement on TYGR Market, whether TYGR's own or a vendor's, goes through these checks before it can be sold.
NAFDAC registration
Every product must have a NAFDAC registration number. We check it with NAFDAC and make sure the product name, maker and pack match what is registered.
Lab testing where it applies
Where purity or dose matters, we ask for a recent certificate of analysis from an accredited laboratory. Products that pass carry a Lab-tested badge. [TODO: list which categories require lab testing.]
Batch records
We keep the batch number and expiry date for the stock we sell, so we can trace a batch and pull it quickly if there is a problem.
Claims review
We read every listing before it goes live. No cure claims, no guaranteed results and nothing that breaks NAFDAC's advertising rules.
Vendors
Businesses that sell on TYGR Market must pass these checks first, and keep passing them.
Business registration
Every vendor must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). We confirm their registration number and who owns the business.
Product documentation
For each product, vendors send the NAFDAC registration details, label artwork and, where needed, lab results.
Ongoing review
We track complaints, returns and delivery times, recheck documents before they expire and make spot checks on stock. [TODO: confirm review frequency.]
What happens when a check fails
A specialist fails a check
They cannot join. If a licence lapses or a serious complaint is upheld after they join, we pause their profile at once, tell their upcoming patients and help them rebook with someone else.
A product fails a check
It is not listed. If a problem appears later, we take it off sale, stop the affected batch, tell customers who bought it and report it to NAFDAC where the law requires.
A vendor fails a check
Their application is declined and we tell them why. A vendor who breaks our rules after joining is suspended, and serious or repeated breaches end the partnership.
Seen something that doesn't look right?
If you think a specialist, product or vendor on TYGR shouldn't be there, tell us. We look into every report.
